Tamiya is my fav paint to airbrush, but always thinned at least 1:1 with isopropyl.  I spray it usually around 15 psi in thin coats, and it always dries uber flat.

Oh yea, and a little bit of their retarder to slow any tip dry  :|

Did you blast it on thick?

I bought Tamiya thinner and it smells like alcohol, but with something else in it.

I think alcohols are different. Using IPA to clean resin prints it get gummed up pretty quick and needs thrown out. But if I use denatured alcohol it seems to work a little quicker. The real thing though is that the resin particles do not stay suspended forever like the slimey mess IPS turns into. All the resin settles to the bottom the very next day. Where IPS will setting after a couple months.

Can someone explain to me what "I got hose in different area codes" has to do with the things being discussed in this thread?

Lol. Ok. So there's this banger of a song from back in the day called "Area Codes".

It popped into my head as I realized my air hose is like 6' long.

LOL!  Ok, that is way out of left field (and it also shows that I'm getting old).

I agree with Chris:  WHOA!  A six-footer.  NICE!

I did shake it. I thought. Maybe I hadn't. I really need one of those paint shakers.

IMO, the battery operated "stirrer" https://www.micromark.com/Cordless-Mixer-for-Model-Paints is a better way to mix up the paint, plus the paint doesn't begin to collect at the top of the lid.
I've had the same one for almost 30 years.

Yeah, but then you have another thing to clean and there will be paint loss in it.

Not really.
Just barely pull it out of the paint while still below the lip of the jar, give it a spin and the paint comes off easily.
I very seldom actually clean it, as once the paint has dried, it doesn't flake off or anything.
When I do clean it, I just spin it in some Lacquer Thinner and then a thinner soaked section of paper towel.
To each their own...

Oh nice. I'm used to milk frothers like that that definitely need cleaning post frothing.

I love wrapping my fingers around these.

It's great for people like Ed who cannot afford to buy more than one bottle of paint at a time.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

I usually spin it before taking it completely out of the bottle.
