Life like GP18 with Lok Sound V5 58741

Hello to all,
I have finally gotten some modeling time after being gone for work what seems like an eternity. I have this whole list of locos that I want to add sound to. The loco I chose is a CNW GP18 made by Life like. This loco does have a dcc ready frame. After taking the shell off I realized that a Lok Sound V5 kato replacement board with work with minimal work.
I did have to do some minor milling so the speaker with enclosure would fit and clear the shell. Prior to the install I had contacted Allen and asked him to listen to some Lok sound files, after his input I chose file S0717
Notes:
Lok Sound V5 kato replacement board 58741
Soberton 8mm x12mm speaker in a Keystone Details enclosure purchased from Shapeways
Front headlight pre-wired 603 smd LED soldered to the Aux 1 function solder pads
Rear headlight I used an existing LED from the original analog board soldered to the Aux 2 solder pads
I also used wires to make connections for the motor contacts and the brass phosphor contact strips. The thought process was I wanted to eliminate any issues from lack of contact.
I have one more GP18 to do,, Rock Island red and yellow,,that’s going to be sharp!

I really need to quit with the sound installs, lol. When it is all over I will have 30 locos that make noise! I need to work on the layout instead.

Interesting, to solder the wires straight to the pickup strips.  Will you notch the frames for the wires to sit in, or are they small enough not to need that?

I like the wiring notes on the working surface.

Guys,
     Thanks for comments!
Ed, the wires are small enough. But just in case I beveled the underneath of the shell and walkway to allow for the wire where it is soldered.

John, I just use the area as a giant note pad. It beats trying to google everything when I am working. Lol

Tehachapi, thanks I am getting better. Before I was trying to do them in a hurry, slower is better.
