Thank you, and yes this was much easier than the original wiring installation, when I was sitting on the floor and working above my head.

With mock-ups like that, who needs models?

Well hopefully not for a while; the goal was to have a structure good enough for a few years until I can get around to actual structure models.  The earliest mock-ups on the layout are now 15-16 years old and have held up very well.

I've not tried that (I use MT Z scale 905's between MT heavyweight cars).  I think it would work, but just remember you're not going to get very much side to side movement from them so your curve radius would have to be pretty big.

@altohorn25 do they use the same pin hole as the stock coupler box or do you have to drill a second hole for the 905?

Put together a house kit from the American Gothic painting. It's produced by Interurban models and is a nice one evening build. Used nonaerosol hair spray to get the peeling or chipping paint look, not sure if the stuff in the can works better.

Been a while since I've posted an update. First, finally named my layout, The Fort Wayne and Southern, due to then being the original builders of today's NS New Castle District, which is what my layout is based on.

It's based on the loading facility at the GM truck assembly plant near Roanoke, IN and on the transload facility between Fort Wayne and New Haven, IN.

Also have been doing some 3D modeling a modern Wabash Duraplate Trailer for Intermodal and Roadrailer service, my own version of the Gunderson Auto-Max (tired of waiting on Athearn...), and few others as well. (pics in a future update.)

Same pin hole, but you have to add a spacer to lower the height just a smidge.

Finished the pilot model of the reduction gear in time for Springfield. Couldn’t find a good pale yellow that covered in model paint, so I decanted some Rustoleum 2X Ultra-Cover sun yellow into a 2oz jar and airbrushed that. Super-thin lacquer enamel paint with amazing coverage.

Layout progress continues. Lower level benchwork is complete abs stayed on one of the 2 helices. 
More info is on the layout thread,  Cajon-ish. Don't mind the mess. I'm shifting things around off the old upper benchwork so i can take it down and rebuild it.

That Jordan spreader project is just beautiful.  I agree it's a shame to paint it.   Felt the same way about my D16.

20 years ago now, our firm was reopening a line that hadn't seen freight traffic in about 15 years.  Multiple cases of right-of-way encroachment had to be dealt with, the most memorable of which was a used car lot that had managed to park vehicles right up to the tie edge of the main.   Letters were sent, ignored.   Representatives sent, ignored.   Tresspassing notices sent, ignored.

The 'final solution' was the Jordan spreader.  Yes, we took a Jordan spreader to clear used cars from the right of way.   Crunch.   

Sheriff refused the property owners request to arrest the railroad employees for the damage.
