Rapido shipment stolen

From their Facebook page;

"Hi guys,
We’ve got some unfortunate news to report this afternoon regarding the shipment of HO scale Procor tank cars and N scale CP FP9A locomotives to two of our US distributors. We have just been informed by our carrier that a trailer containing these shipments destined for the US was stolen from a local trucking yard sometime in the last couple of days and is still missing as of this afternoon. An investigation has been launched, but as of now we don’t know where these shipments are and whether or not they will be recovered.
While it is believed the models were stolen here in Canada, it’s possible they could appear in the US as well and that the thieves may try and sell the product to either a dealer or otherwise sometime in the near future.
With that in mind, we’re asking dealers and the modeling community to please keep a lookout for any suspicious offers or shipments of these models and please contact police should anything come about.
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Jordan and the Rapido team."

Hoping they have some sort of insurance coverage.

Is there any way to identify the stolen items conclusively?  Or, is it a matter of trying to decide whether some offer looks suspicious only on the basis of price or the source of the offer?

I'm guessing some of this is never sold roadnumbers / models .. that should be a big red flag

N scale Canadian Pacific FP9's. They haven't been done yet as far as I know. Should be easy to find if they start showing up in the market.
The HO GP20 tank cars. I don't really know anything about them.

Highly doubt they were after toy trains, probably just stole what they could steal. Later when they cracked it open and didn't see large screen TV's they said "damn".  Was the whole container their stuff?

Did the truck just contain Rapido stuff, or was it pooled with other LTL cargo?

If the thieves don't know anything about trains, they probably just dumped them.

NJ International had a case of brass locomotives stolen.
I think it was the Pennsylvania MP54s.

And most likely will destroy the whole shipment, Just because they didn't get what they thought they were stealing...

Hey...

HO folks  finally got  something that N scale people don't want.

Hope Rapido gets them back and everyone that ordered them receives their items  .....

These must've been that "next batch" that Hogtrainz mentions on their website. Looks like I won't be getting mine.

Except it's only the shipment(s) from Rapido to two US dealers. Other dealers are receiving them.

Highly likely there was a ton of other LTL in the same trailer, not just theirs. The shipment(s) from Rapido to just two dealers wouldn't fill a whole truck.
