Yes and no. Even just dipping the tip of the brush in paint, what often happens is that the paint wicks up the bristles.

Agreed, but if you’re using a 5/0 or thinner brush, you are obviously painting something with fine, narrow detail, likely requiring thinned precise painting where attention to the depth of your brush plunge is a prerequisite.

I was wondering that too.  I have 5/0 and 10/0 brushes for fine detail work.

One thing that frustrates me is that I can never make those nice tapered tips last very long.  I clean the brushes carefully after I use them, and I even put the little clear bristle protector tube back over them, but it isn't very long before the bristles start to
fray and separate.  I wonder if these cosmetics brushes would be any different.

After cleaning the brush, put a little saliva on the tip of the brush, and shape it into a point.  Let it dry.  (Works for me).

I found that licking the tip of the superglue dispenser makes it last a long, long time.



 

All joking aside, like Peteski, I also use cuticle nippers for trmming sprues.

Unlike some adhesives that cure by evaporation, or heat, cyanoacrylate owes its special instant curing process to the presence of moisture, which reacts instantly on exposure to air, providing there is even just a small amount of relative humidity in the atmosphere.

While your tongue will seal the bottle, it will also provide moisture to set off the glue. Fingers work much better at sealing the bottles.
