So, the loco is spinning the drivers when you pull two passenger cars up hill?
That 4 to 1 gear reduction does not even make the motor work when doing this.

  Ok so it took me long enough but it is behaving much better . I went through the manual and adjusted all of the DDE settings again used JMRI to adjust the auto calibrate , and followed the manual for the rest , They aren't intuitive .The exhaust sound does get just a bit louder going upgrade ( I'm guessing that is because of the gearhead ) and it drifts downgrade nearly silent except for a bit of rod nock . Good enough for me ! :D
