I did find this, its for the high side car but comparing a Trainworx car to my Exactrail low sides it looks close...
I ordered a few hopefully they work for the Atlas/Walthers car...

I'm really curious to see how that piece works out.  Keep me posted.

Unfortunately all of the schemes are early 1920s/30s schemes. Any of the "Bilboard" cars wouldn't have been seen past 1937 when they were banned in interchange.
The Santa Fe and PFE schemes are 1920s and likely would be rebuilt or repainted by the late 1930s.

Mind you rule 1 applies... 

Yeah, that's what I figured about the billboard schemes.  I was hoping the PFE and SantaFe were too foobie-fied.  Someone was talking about a WGE or PFE book in one thread. I might have to get a copy and study it.  I was also thinking of getting some undecorated ones if there make any (they're listed but if no one pre-orders them, Atlas usually doesn't make any) but I'd have to figure out some possible paint schemes or make up something that might be reasonable.

I'm far from an expert on the Pennsylvania but they were a large member of FGE so cars from FGE/WFE/BREX would be common.

Both the Intermountain wood reefer and the Micro-Trains wood reefer would be FGE/WFE prototypes appropriate for the late 1940s.

The late Bill Welch was the authority on all things FGE he was working on a book that hopefully will be published in the future.

Both the Intermountain and Micro-Trains steel reefers are PFE prototypes for late 1940s you want the color double herald scheme and the single herald scheme both in orange. Unfortunately noone makes a wood sheathed PFE car in N scale. (Although a kitbash would be possible since wood reefers are all of similar designs.)

Intermountain also makes a steel Santa fe reefer that is appropriate for your era.

The Atlas car is an ACF prototype that might be appropriate for some urtx reefers in your era (Milwaukee, Soo, M&StL, CGW) but I'm not aware of any specific examples.

And there's meat reefers but thats a big subject on its own...

It has pictures of nearly every major class of car in the late 1940s and is especially interesting to PRR/Reading fans since it focuses on Harrisburg PA.

Looking forward to the MKT GP40's!

The Union Pacific units are ex-MKT, one overlaps with the MKT numbers in the release, and were off UP's roster by 1992.

At least one of the Penn Central white worms GP's could be patched and renumbered for the MKT, per MKT 238 shown on page 127 in Daryl McGee's excellent book, Missouri-Kansas-Texas Lines in Color, Volume Three: The Green Era. That hawtness can also be seen here:

The FA’s are not in this announcement. They were announced quite some time ago and supposed to arrive 2nd quarter, now pushed into Q3.
