Ex UP baggage cars, panels are stainless steel AFAIK.

Fun to imagine those beasts getting a new CN paint job if the merger were to somehow be successful.

Yeah, but unlikely. CN doesn't repaint much since closing the paint booth here in Centralia. I mean, we still have IC Deathstar SD70s running around, 23 years after CN acquired IC. Plus, they have recently introduced a handful of "heritage" units in predecessor schemes to preserve their trademark/corporate dress rights while keeping the genuine items in their original paint. Too bad they didn't adopt this practice before wiping DM&IR's arrowhead scheme off the map.  :(
