I'm working on a set of Santa Fe E1's for my 1937 and 1938 Super Chief.  These are 3D printed shells that I purchased off Ebay from Robert Nunes.

They're nice shells.  Robert saw some of my photos on Facebook and offered to send me a new set free of charge without the print lines.  He's not sure how he didn't see that before he shipped them, but it's nice that he's fixing the issue. 

The B unit is finished (the kristal klear is still drying hence the milky-white color in some of the windows).  I was having problems with my Microscale decals, so I ordered a new set directly from the factory to use on the A unit.  I don't need the striping coming apart when I'm trying to do that complex curve on the nose and sides. 

The shells are on Kato E8 mechanisms.  They were pretty much drop on (only had to do a little bit of filing to get them to fit perfectly).  I added Digitrax DCC (no sound) as well.  While my Oriental Limited E1's are nice, these run a heck of a lot better.

Tim -- what you do is inspiring -- while we see some great 3d printed models being produced by our fellow members, there is just something very enjoyable in watching you create unique rolling stock the old fashioned way.  Much respect!

I built another modernized (post 1930) PRR G24 to steel sides by replacing the Intermountain kit’s wood sides with styrene. I ordered a auto frame load from Shapeways because some of these cars were in dedicated service and fitted with racks for the auto frames, but Shapeways is having issues with the designer, so I used these Westinghouse crates as an interim load.  PRR Freight Car Color is a 1:1 mix of Vallejo Cavalry Brown and Amaranth Red. Decals are from Mount. Vernon Shops.

It’s a WW1 USRA composite gon, so many railroads probably had them. On the PRR, by the early 1930s they were all rebuilt with steel sides and they were on the roster through the mid-1950s. Best to start with the Intermountain kit if you can find it.

I've been working on some N-scale Conrail GP10's. I used a LL GP18 walkway, Atlas SD26 cab and GP9 shell, and various 3D-printed, wire, and photo-etched details. This is one of a pair ready for primer.

801 has reached the decal stage for the BCR patching.   The remnants of the former Erie Lackawanna markings still need to be applied.

Worked on my B&O I-1 by @SkipGear ...  a few more derails to add the some lettering.


And following up on my prior post, I found some interiors I had built years ago for some DPM buildings, and stuck them under my Magnusen Merchants Row...  (The buildings I had built them for are now on my TTrak  modules with their backs turned to the audience, so they are now surplus)
The fit isn't quite right, but it's better than vacant real estate!
