I actually played the trombone for 13 years.

I'm thinking there is a marketing opportunity here for MTL to produce a "Brass Band series", with the first offering being the #76 Trombone Car.  Followed by the #110 Coronet car, #1000 "Reeds" car, Tympani car based on the MTL Horse car ("copper bottom tympani in horse platoons") and flatcar loads of cannons ("There were fifty mounted cannon in the battery"), and appropriate cars for bassoons, clarinets, euphoniums etc.  And, of course, a caboose for the "conductor".

thanks Gordon and others.  I'll add that I played bass and guitar in high school and junior college jazz bands and earned a lot of my college tuition money from playing in lounge bands!

I have the flanger underframe up on its Roundhouse archbar trucks (which a fellow Railwire member kindly provided).  The wheels were replaced with Fox Valley 3302s.  The coupler height was a tad low so I added .010" bolster pads to achieve the correct mounting height.  Here is the underframe up against two coupler mounting gauges after the modification:




I can now proceed with assembly of the parts into a carbody.

BLI could make the "sound cars" with special sound projects for each instrument.

Then, running a train would give a whole other meaning to the title of "conductor". 

But, think of the time you would have to spend on DecoderPro trying to get your play list to match your switch list.

Cocktails for two?  Unfinished T-scale Amtrak AEM-7 and Conrail H45 in oxide red unfinished in the paint shop.   The AEM-7 is intended to will ride on a powered chassis.

Here's a smoke(stack) to go with the cocktails--this is part of a late 19th century power plant project (the machinery was part of that as well.).  I'll probably get it all together sooner or later.  That's 100 scale feet tall/less than 3 inches.

In other news, I am helping Mr. LeMerise et al in the PRR N-scale Facebook group with a PRR lines east signal bridge in N scale.  Volunteered for N-scale duty since I already had a 1:450 version, but then found myself checking then updating and revising the artwork, because mild OCD, plus N scale isn't as forgiving detail wise as T scale.  Drafted multiple widths to accommodate various track center spacings (I was asked to to T-Trak and now also "standard" N which iirc is 1.5in).  If you're interested, stay tuned-- I will probably be selling kits and I could do Z scale too if there's interest.  I'll post pics of the test model once it's done, which will be a couple months at least.  Don't expect it to rival TrainCat's version but it won't be vaporware and I think rivets can be added with Archer decals if desired.

Also if anyone's interested I do have N scale decals for the Conrail H45 for both the oxide or gray versions, So if anyone wants some, pm me.  Jeff Lopez and Ed K. helped with the QC on these and after several iterations to get them dialed in I think we got it (finally).  Jeff may have posted a pic of the N-scale version previously?

I finally got the A/B Micro Trains FT's that I bought from Jim Starbuck  weathered and speed matched to my other A/B set of #40. They look and run well together. I added a set of windshield wipers to the A units before I weathered them. A small detail, but it looks good with the free standing factory grab irons.

I might not be printing yet, but I am darn near ready to!

Built a special cabinet just for the printer, wash station and resin. Wanted a dark space to prevent inadvertent UV hardening. 16x16.75x48h. Used one full sheet of 3/4 MDF. Had Home Depot cut the sheet into 3 16” wide x 96” strips.

I had the tripod out for other reasons so took shot of the westbound Boundary freight #81 meeting its eastbound counter part at Cascde. This meet would normally occur further east at Farron summit or even further so the  eastbound extra must be running late.

I got the roof on the main building, but waiting for HO decals to letter it.

Pittston, Pennsylvania used to be home to over 50 clothing companies but now there is 0. Another sad loss of American manufacturing.

Bright idea.   
I admire the fortitude it must take within someone to light structures but to me it's just too bright, given the nature of the setting.
In addition, not every window in the upper floors will be lit, let alone in the same level of light.
This is just my opinion and intend no disrespect to Lee.
