Derailment on CSX Hanover Subdivision

Crews were switching Specialty Granulars Inc near Blue Ridge Summit, PA when around 1PM, a derailment occurred involving 14 cars.  6 ended up down an embankment and into a retaining pond.  No injuries or leaking from the involved cars were found.  Hulchers and CraneMasters are on the scene, along with crews from CSX.  Pictures are from Harrison Jones Photographer.  This industry has no railfanning access unless you hike the tracks or trespass, so I have little information on how crews actually work/switch out this facility.  At this time, no official information on order of events/how it occurred.

I lived within a few miles of that location for many years. It is a few miles west of the territory that Adam mu26aeh is modeling.

So Adam, will we see some Hulcher equipment on your layout now?   8)

If room allows, which it should, this will be on version 3.0.  Possibly with a car or two down the embankment.  From a comment or two I've seen, this is not the first time cars have derailed here

Any speculation on what occured?
Empty tank cars with loaded hoppers being pulled cause the lighter cars up front to string line on the 's' curve?

Chris333:  They still work on my system.  It shows "satellite" in a little box in the lower left corner.

I haven't heard anything yet as to a cause.

I have "satellite", but for about 2-3 months now I no longer have "birds eye view" where you could pan around at an angle.

I believe that is now the 3D button. I know you can still pan on street view if available. Find the little man icon and drag it to the nearest road. Let go and if the Google car ran down that road it will open up the ground level view.

Wasn't that a Bing Maps thing?

Been on Google maps for years with a round toggle to change the direction and now it is all gone. The birds eye views were always much clearer and would give you 4 views of everything.

When I open it up and click on globe view I get this:

But all the images are kinda cartoonish.  :D

Works fine for me.  Click on the globe, above the bullseye dot icon that is top right on your picture, that enables globe view, then a 2D or 3D button appears, Crtl + mouse allows 3D viewing
