How about a “hobby shop report” sub-forum?
« on: September 02, 2020, 08:20:40 AM »
...which could live quietly under the “upcoming events” sub-forum? I know there will probably be resistance to more board clutter, it’s just a thought I had after an eye-opening visit to Spring Creek this weekend. Maybe people would find it useful. Such things tend to get buried in the detritus of the crew lounge.

Carry on!

It’s a good idea; thanks for suggesting it.

That is a good idea, but in my typical fashion I'm pondering that since it is not scale specific, wouldn't it fit better as a sub-forum in either Lounge, or Product Discussion instead of pigeon-holing it in N/Z forum?  Actually, the same would apply to the Upcoming Events sub-forum.

On the subject of subforums, at the risk of having too many, I humbly suggest adding one as well. See the following post:

Oh well, I thought it was worth it, but the powers that be evidently disagree. Hobby Shop subforum got added in less than 5 minutes, but there hasn't even been any discussion of this. I don't mind a polite "no," but... crickets is discouraging, to say the least. Nevermind...

DKS, it has been created a while ago, and there are 3 active threads in there already.

Since most hobbies are multi-scale, I would not have placed it in N/Z scale forum, but then again, there really isn't any other good place for it.  Product Discussion maybe?  Well, it is where it is . . .

@peteski,

I think @DKS is referring to his suggestion of an Animation Subforum, which I think is a great idea.  I imagine, judging by the popularity of DKS’ projects, that this would be well-received.  It’s possible that his suggestion for the Animation Subforum was lost in this thread and not obvious to the powers that be.

Silly me - I was going by the subject of this thread.  :facepalm:
I agree that it is possible that his suggestion might have been lost here.

You're right, it's my fault, I should have started a new thread with its own subject line. Sorry.

To me this is not about placing blame on someone, or having to apologize. I should be apologizing for my scatterbrain reading skills. Either way, posting a request for the Animation forum as a separate thread would not be a bad idea. It would be easier to notice that way.

@DKS,

I can't upvote @peteski's post in this forum, but I agree with his assessment.  Please post a separate request for an Animation Subforum.
