Ugh, not sure why it is doing that..took these photos the same way as my last update. Guess I will have to rely on aerodynamic downforce and speed, like an F1 race car!

Assuming that you are using a smart phone, when you are holding it in the landscape orientation with the screen facing you, is the the camera lens on its upper left corner (on the back of the phone)?  That usually results in properly oriented photos (at least when moved from your phone to other locations, like this forum).

I've already posted them, deleted them, posted them again, deleted them etc.. I think I got the hang of it now. I try to be fast deleting the wrong ones, on this board, to me, it feels like being caught peeing in public, the shame...

Just came back from Walmart. No tan camo paint... They did have the green and black colors though.

I don’t post pictures often because the time available and large size of the layout I am not able to model to the level of detail as some  of master modelers here. I share more from the perspective to demonstrate I actually have a layout and I am an active modeler in the since I am building a layout. At some point I hope to reach a point where I can add scenery and detail & weather scenery. I will never weather my rolling stock so magazine level of detail will never happen.  I enjoy it the way I model it and it is my Layout 😀

Finished 3 NKP composite hoppers (finally!).  lettering is an attempt to show them as they might have looked circa 1940.  The brown one is an unmodified Microtrains hopper for comparison

Started these way back in June, here:

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Yesterday I went to 3 different stores looking for Khaki camo paint, none had it and only one had any camo paint at all.  :RUEffinKiddingMe:

If Rustoleum would just sell a little baggie full of spare nozzles I wouldn't need a new can all the time...

Thank you!
Exactly this.  I very seldom can spray Rustoleum paint at any point beyond the first time after purchase.
I know all the tricks...spray upside down to flush the nozzle, warming the can in warm water, blah, blah.
I try now to avoid purchasing it.

But sometimes it is not the nozzle but either the valve in the can, or the siphon tube that clog up. Not much can be done when that happens, other than decant the paint.

I think that's been more my experience.
I've got a lot of extra nozzles and the problem has more often than not been below them.

The Rustoleum Camo paint is very flat and maybe thicker than most spray paints. I use it as a base for all structures or anything "wood". It is strong enough that alcohol washes don't affect it. It is great stuff, just put it in a better can.

If fact I took a can of it to the paint desk and have them make a quart of it in latex to use as the base for all my scenery. But I don't want to try spraying latex on models and keeping it very flat.

Bryn and sd45elect2000:  Thank you!  Yes, I have Scalecoat for the rare MILW loco I paint now, and in the past I used whatever close model paint I had.  If the MILW changed colors, that would make it even harder to match!

At least in the early 70s, I don't think two units in the West matched, and I don't need many anyway.  All I have is a branch from a hidden track to the interchange, and it's populated by electrics (freelanced from Kato) and a few Geeps, so none of the units are modeled as freshly painted.

A good alternative to Camo paint is GAF ShingleMatch. And they spray reliably--I've completely emptied several cans.

Those look good, but where do you find them? I can't even figure out what the names of each color are.

Worked on one of my T-Trak modules this week--adding a road.

I also installed a Microtrains coupler on the Life-Like Y3.

Not much but I'm happy to be doing something at least!
