Bachmann live stream on Trainworld - Thomas stuff.

Tonight Bachmann did a live stream on the Trainworld Facebook site and talked about the new Thomas the Friends stuff in N scale.  If you follow this at all, you probably know about Thomas, Percy,  the coaches and troublesome trucks.  They also have three tank cars.  The passenger cars and troublesome trucks will be out first (shipping now?) and the engines and tank cars later.

Was there any mention of Thomas being DCC equipped? I saw some questions about it in the comments, but didn't hear anything about it from Bachmann.

DCC has never been mentioned in any announcement or catalog, probably why Thomas is only $125 msrp.  Look's like the last catalog did have the tank cars.  Catalog also has James which wasn't mentioned in the video.

Troublesome Tricks and passenger cars are (or were) in stock at MB Klein, so they are probably available at other hobby stores.

These trains mean a lot to people and are a good way for someone to be introduced to the hobby.

A few months ago, someone sent me a Bachmann loco for repair that was the loco for the Hogworts Express from Harry Potter.

The guy who owned it was 25 years old and had it running around the Christmas tree since he was a young kid.
I was glad to fix it for him.

There will be no DCC for the entire Thomas line.  I asked the Bachmann Rep at Amherst that specific question and he emphatically said no DCC.

So you will have to roll your own IF there is room inside.

Heard it at Amhurst, the range of random chuff sounds is actually a pretty welcome improvement. It obscures the very obviously digital sounding cycles of older spectrum stuff.
