First test run of a Hallmark NYC Niagara after a major rebuild of the mechanism.

It is in the list as a NYC S1b, which is the official name. But it is indeed Pecos River Brass. I updated the posting.

A couple hours here and there throughout the week I got the PR43C to a good point of doing a first run of printing.

I picked up a couple of Intermountain Santa Fe SD45-2 units in Bicentennial paint.  Santa Fe had 5 of these units.  I installed decoders, added micro trains true scale couplers for a more prototypical look, put some black paint on the inside of the shells to cut down on light bleed, and got them speed matched this morning.  I still need to weather the trucks and the exhaust just a little (they kept these 5 units pretty clean) and weather up the caboose, but they're close to done.

No picture, but I installed a DZ126 in a Tomix track cleaning car mostly following these directions from @u18b http://u18b.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Tomix-clean-car.pdf . Only changed is that I completely removed the off--on--CL-on switch and installed a short jumper instead on the motor grey wire.

Easiest non-drop-in decoder I've done in a long time.

There's a couple tweaks I want to make, but it's always a nice feeling when things fit well the first time around.

After receiving my custom steel weights, I have been able to make significant progress with my nine Railwest chip cars, including installation of the weights, false floors, 'A' end, and door header:




And work continues on the underframes for my six Vancouver iron chip cars:

I put my new Santa Fe SD45-2's on the front of my Milwaukee Road Sprint Train and turned it into a Super C.  A mix of Micro Trains, Trainworx, and a few other manufacturers' equipment. The Micro Trains flats have the couplers body mounted and FVM metal wheels added to improve their tracking.
