It is a nice looking kit, and you've done a fine job of assembly so far.  I would suggest that you consider replacing the wood end rails and ladders with scratchbuilt wire rails/styrene ladder or possibly MTL plastic caboose end rails:

If not, I think the wood rails won't look so good when you start adding the rest of the wire grabs irons.

I agree with Dave, taking the time to replace the end rails will take this model to the next level. Also while you are at it dont forget the window awnings!!

I've build a pair of Robert Ray kits. In the box, they look quite daunting, but end up being not too difficult to build, and I got a HUGE sense of satisfaction from seeing the finised products. I would say they are the most satisfying kits I've ever built, hands down.

Picked up Tru Color Boxcar Red paint and I have K4 PE caboose decals on order.....I plan to shoot the caboose tomorrow morning after work, before it hits 90°

yeah, it was a one off...and I asked Robert about it and he said that he is retired, could burn more parts, but doesn't want to spend the time writing the instructions...
