You wouldn't be surprised; I've performed the suite in concert two or three times. Very rich and compelling, one of my favorites, too. When the ensemble was "on", feeling and expressing the emotions written into the piece, I found it hard to keep my composure during the solo trumpet mourning the dead after the battle and especially the transition into the hymn. Good thing I had a tuba to hide behind.

Man this is dripping with nostalgia. So many memories of getting trains for birthdays and Christmas come to mind from this.

Gotta hand it to Tyco though. While their stuff may not have been the highest quality, at least by more current standards, they certainly sparked the interest of many.

The way I see it, there was no bigger beneficiary to Tyco's existence than Athearn.
