We need to channel Pud and get them to do it in N scale.

There are lots of things they make in HO that I would buy in N Scale.  But what N Scaler in their right mind would want NP boxcars, multiple steam generator cars, FA units..............the list goes on and on 😥

Fine N Scale makes this as a kit now if you want one. It's an easy project.

Yes, the Fine N kit is a very nice one - but for all those others who want RTR, no one could do it better than Rapido.

At least if these cars ever get made by Rapido in N scale, there will be no board gaps to worry about.  :)

I really like the Fine N Scale kits.  They have some dings and dents cast in, so the models have the appearance of cars with some miles on them.

I gave up rivet counting when I couldn't see an N scale rivet anymore.

That Fine N Scale car is so amazingly good. It's one of the very few cars that got wavy riveted sheets right.

But that said, there's always room for more bomb a$$ freight cars in N.

The Fine N Scale body is really an X31B or X31C, as the top of the sides roll directly into the roof. The Rapido model is a true X31A, with the edge of the roof inset from the sides. The A class outnumbered the others 3:1. So a true X31A would be welcome in N, either kit or RTR, as it never has been done.

Bryan, thanks for the specifics on the roof.  I knew that an X-31 had the inset, and that an X-31C did not, but was unclear (a couple of articles I read really did not help much) on where the change was made.  As to the Fine N Scale, they also make an "X-31" with double doors- is that an X-31, or does it also more closely resemble a -B or -C?
