Ok, done a tad more work on the first one. Shaved off much boiler detail. Turned a new boiler section from brass then cut the bottom piece out to match the rest of the lower boiler opening.  That's all for now.

Turned from brass as in, started with a brass tube that was close to the right size, and then turned it down on a lathe so it would match the plastic shell diameter exactly?

Looking very nice.  Shaved off the boiler detail... which means separate piping will be coming?  Excellent!

Well it did it again. I took this photo in the normal vertical position but still it post 90 degrees off, wtf.    To answer your question I used a solid piece of brass rod and turned to the size needed then bored it to match the ID of the existing boiler. It's a tad thicker and will provide extra weight where I'm loosing it with the original shell.  I'll be using Keystone Detail power reverse and a few other areas.    These are good runners. Since mine are broken in they now pull 36 empty hoppers each up my 1.34%. I double head for the 54 loaded hoppers.
    After I rework my I10 2-8-0 I'll get back on my T1 set. They're a total rebuild.

It is not you - it is common problem with smart-phone photos viewed on Windows PCs.  If you took photos in landscape position the problem would not exist. Well, the photos could still show up upside down.  You probably don't want to learn all the gory details behind the problem.

No need to tell me about the photo thing. it would be like me asking the time and then you tell me how to build a Swiss watch.   Machining and models are my thing, PC tech, Nope.
