With the cab door windows plated over and blanked out? Guess that one never ran in reverse. :)

Hey @Lenny53,

This brings up a good point.  I always enjoy your photographs.  Every week.  Any chance you can start captioning your photos with dates and locations, if known?

Well I'm still pretty much still cognizant of where I took the shot but when is a whole other matter for film shots.

I've been meaning to post these for a couple week. Sorry for the crappy composition, I captured them from my work truck totally unprepared for a railfanning shot.

I always love seeing sd40N's in a consist. I find it interesting that I see these more often than Sd70M's as of late. And these two are three only that I've seen.

A blast from my distant past.  All pictures except the one with me in it were taken by me, and all were developed and printed by me.

This was taken in Tripolis, Greece, in 1973.  That's a meter gauge Alco 2-8-2 on the left.  (or maybe Vulcan - see below)

This was taken at the same time and place, but that's me in the picture (at 15) with my Exacta camera.  Taken by my father.  Another Alco. (or Vulcan?)

The next two were taken the same year, near Thessaloniki.  It's a German-built 2-10-0, (more likely Baldwin, see below) standard gauge.  I remember having to scramble when the engineer opened up the cylinder cocks.

Last, this was taken in Yugoslavia, a little later that year. Out the window of our family car.  Such photos were illegal at the time, but since Yugoslavia no longer exists as such I think I'm safe posting it now.

If the number on that 2-10-0 is 995, then it's a Baldwin built in 1947, not German.
The metre gauge 2-8-2 is a USATC S118 of which almost 800 were built by Alco, Baldwin, Davenport and Vulcan Iron Works. Wikipedia suggests the 8 built for Greece came from Vulcan.
This pic of mine is of one of just over 300 USATC S118 that ended up on Indian Railway metre gauge lines. North Eastern Railway WD 1640 was built by ALCo in 1943 and was seen at Lucknow on 10 November 1978.

I'll readily concede that the 2-10-0 might not be as I recall. Mostly I remember running from the steam and still trying to get the shot.
I'd swear I saw an Alco builder's plate on the meter-guage 2-8-2 in the first photo, but again it was a few years ago and I might not remember correctly.

Thanks for the facts!
