This popped up in my YouTube suggestions:

While I don't model this period, some of you do and might find it interesting or useful.

Very nice. Thanks. Evocative for us old farts who grew-up with it. A simpler but naïve time.

"Simpler."  Perhaps...  But then I think about what was happening in the background of those images; things like the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Space Race, our incremental involvement in Vietnam, the Civil Rights movement, cultural upheavals, and so on, and I wonder if there was ever such a thing as a "simpler time."

Agreed.
I think every time had their issues for sure.
I do think the lack of a 24 hour news cycles and social media then makes it seem simpler for sure.
Also, rural areas don’t have the same safe no matter feeling, today.
With rampant homelessness, Meth and Opioid use, rural robberies or car prowls are a part of life today that as a kid was never on my radar.

Geez!  Everything in this was taken AFTER I joined the AF.  I'm certifiably old when not even just my childhood, but my adulthood are nostalgic.

Every era (times) have their own issues...

The problem is they keep getting worse.
