Changing the signature image shouldn't be hard.  Go to your profile link at the top of the page, choose "Summary".  On that page, choose "Modify Profile".  Near the bottom, there's a section for the signature, with an "upload photo" link, just like the comments.

Upload your new image, and it should change.

I added unimates and diaphragms to the Fs.

I hope Kato is watching!

About ready to throw primer on a couple NCL cars, and had to stop back in to make sure I didn't miss anything compared to Andrews fantastic cars.  Lowell's delivery of 500 series coaches this week inspired another spurt of effort:

@Sokramiketes Did you cut the skirts off of Brass Car Sides sides and make your own from styrene?

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

I ended up using the ALM core kit skirts, removing the section between the trucks, but leaving the lower sill.

Visually, it seemed like the Brass Car Sides were a little short.  A bunch of passes with an X-acto removed the skirts.

And same process for the door.  I wish the RPO doors were etched separately, but I was able to cut it free without too much hassle.

Gorgeous cars. I keep putting off hand rails and grab irons, my least favorite part of model building. DO you have an technique that might make it less of a chore for me?

You probably already know this, but Brass Car Sides makes, or used to make, a kit for the dome-sleeper as well, using the same CC dome.  I have one.

The biggest problem with the CC dome-coach is the too-tall windows.  Even the too-thick sides can be hidden if one wants to cut individual pieces of glazing.  Other than that it's a very nice model. and, as far as I know, the only mass-market model dome in N scale correct for the NP and GN.  We really do need a newer version.  Railsmith, maybe?

Only one car away from Kato announcing its NCL!

Its the part I like the least, and sometimes it pushes me to Z scale so I don't have to do them.  Guys like Bill Denton, Andrew here, keep pushing me to add them...

My technique is pretty standard.  I bend a 90 into the end of wire (.008 NiChr here, as I can't find stainless anymore, RIP Small Parts) drop that into one hole, then line up a flat tweezer to the next hole and pull it off.  Bend the second 90, and snip.  Right into the CA glue and into the holes.  On to the next one.

I did one BCS dome sleeper way back when.  I have sides for the second.  The thing holding me back is that I like what Andrew did with the styrene slab sides, so I either do that on the next one and they don't match, build two new ones, or fix the old one.

Or just get lazy and do a second to match the first, without the extra detail on the sides.  Zen Master would not be happy with that approach, probably.

So fantastic Mike!

What colors do you use?  You probably said somewhere before.
