Another patched CSX  GP39-2 completed.

Those poor things had so many abominable patches done to them. Starting out with D&H's initial masking tape renumbering.

This weekend was virtual Beer Bourbon & BBQ, so nothing got done on Saturday.



But Sunday was TTRAK day!

I cheated by prepping some frames earlier this week. These are a new attempt to get extra depth by using 3/4" MDF (the F stands for F'ing heavy...) as a base plate that then gets foam laminated on top. These are corners.



It's not much to look at here, but I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to arrange everything here. I think I found an arrangement that works for me.





I'm trying to replicate this scene from my childhood. My grandfather worked at the Rohm & Haas plant across the street here and I have many happy memories of this area.



And this is ridiculuous, I know, but I like the idea of running Reading power (even though it was served by the PRR/PC) here because my other grandfather was a Reading man in Port Richmond.



Lastly, I darkened up these awesome row houses that @jpec made for me for use on Windsor St. I needed to tone down the mortar lines a bit for use in this case. They're far from exact matches, but they look great and after all, it's the Sleven that's the focus here!



This was all aided by my new TV setup above the workbench. Wall mounted and tilting so it's usable throughout the room AND it gives me more shelf space above those drawers for storage.

MDF for T-Trak?  I thought the whole idea of T-Trak, amongst many, is that they are light so as to facilitate ease of movement and transportation.

More hoppers waiting for the final coat of flat finish which arrived over the weekend thanks to FedEx. And oddly enough I'll probably work on another half dozen or so this week as well. What I need to work on is making coke loads for the W&LE train I've almost finished the cars for. Has anyone ever made their own coke loads and have a bit of advice?

Running Reading is always a good choice!  My grandfather (carpenter) and great grandfather (boiler man) were Reading men.

@Sharky_McSharknose , the trick to those molded on grabs is to just skim the color across the top edge of them, using the side of a flat, relatively dry brush.  The camera sees all, but to the eye, it makes the rail look a lot smaller, and provides some separation from the surface it's attached to.

Thanks for the tip! I will keep that in mind for my next weathering job, which will probably be the other B-boat.

I believe that is the first time that I have seen by neighborhood (Port Richmond) in a post on T/B.  I lived about a mile or so down Thompson Street that is in your photo. Nice job on the row homes, similar to my folks house.  Used to hope for a switcher to roll down Westmoreland St. to crush our pennies and hoping they would drop fusses at the intersections.  Fun memories.

One good thing about this pandemic, I'm finally printing stuff .. I'm not doing big projects, but little details I need for the layout .. this file takes about 1.5 hours to print ..  I make them 12 at a time with light supports .. not too worried about orientation ..
