I came across this scan on EBay. Besides the outstanding paint scheme, it’s a pretty interesting car. Not sure I’ve ever seen anything like that before.

No, I've never seen one like that either.  It looks homemade.  I wonder what CLMX 101 looked like?

Chris333:  Possible.  Nothing says that a small company like that wouldn't have multiple one-of-a-kind cars.

CLMX reporting marks, from http://www.pwrr.org/rrm/index.html, include:

CLMX      *CALIFORNIA MILLING CORP.
CLMX          *CYPRUS SIERRITA CORP
CLMX      +CLIFFS QUEBEC IRON MINING LTD. [CONSOLIDATED THOMPSON IRON MINES LTD.]

"* (Asterisk) or + (plus) denotes duplicated or reassigned reporting marks among the various sources we have come across over the years. This is often due to the fact that the reporting mark had been retired long ago and reassigned, or the company was sold, bought out, merged and/or changed names. .... If the current holder of a duplicated or reassigned mark is known, the entry is preceded by +"

In the photo "CALIFORNIA MILLING COROPRATION" is clearly visible on that yellow car.

Yes, and I probably wouldn'thave searched on CLMX to start with, for exactly the reason learmoia found.  My comment was primarily for mu26aeh, who said that there must be another CLMX.  It turns out that there are two others, and they both may have ore cars.  Cliffs Quebec Iron Mining almost certainly does, and Cypress Sierrita Corp might have. From Wikipedia:

"The Cyprus Mines Corporation was an early twentieth century American mining company ... In 1986, Cyprus acquired the Sierrita copper and molybdenum mine near Tucson, Arizona. "

Although, I wouldn't call 1986 "early twentieth century"!  The article has a history of the company, which is rather involved, including being bought, and spun off, by other companies.  It's now owned by Freeport-McMoRan.

As for Google searches, my favorite was many years ago, when Google was fairly new, and I was researching red dwarfs, a type of star.  I entered "red dwarf stars", without the quotes, and got the most amazing collection of vertically challenged Russian pornography actors, of both genders.

Chris333:  Not much of an effect, directly, as our company's censorware blocked most of the images.  But I did learn, quickly, how to choose keywords more effectively.  So, yes, indirectly, it helped teach me to be a better searcher.
