Has anyone tried to swap an Atlas B23-7 shell on to a U23B mechanism? I checked the Atlas website and it list separate part numbers for the frame for each locomotive, but they also list separate part numbers for GP38 and GP40 frames and I know those are interchangeable.
I interested in this because if they are swappable, I have some MoPac B23-7's and I would reserve some of the MoPac U23B's Atlas has announced with sound to get sound equipped chassis for by B23's. I figure once I sell the non sound mechanisms and the U23B shells, my cost would be about the same as ordering an ESU drop in decoder and a speaker/enclosure.
