Big Boy UP 4018 whistle files on Tsunami and Tsunami 2 decoders

In my Athearn Challenger, I removed the MRC factory sound decoder and installed a Tsunami TSU-750 Heavy Steam with sound file UP 4018 file selected.

In my Big Boy, I also removed the MRC decoder and installed a Tsunami 2 TSU-1100, with whistle sound file Hancock Flat Top 3 -Chime UP No. 4018 selected.

Both locos have identical speakers.

While the Tsunami TSU-750 has the correct sound, the TSU-1100 does not. I was thinking the whistle sound in both files should be the same as they are both listed as UP 4018?

I contacted SoundTraxx and they advised to select the Hancock Step Top 3 chime on the TSU-1100 which sets CV 120 to 25. However, after doing this, the whistle sound is still nowhere near the same as the correct sound in the TSU750.

Short of removing the TSU-1100 and installing a TSU-750 in my Big Boy, does the group have any other suggestions to try?

Thanks,
John

Thanks for the reply Mike.
Mike, I did try modifying the equilizer and reverb, but still couldn't achieve the correct sound.
I will try again with these mods.

Do you have the Tsunami 2 Steam or Tsunami 2 Steam 2 decoder? Looking at the list of whistles available in the Tsunami 2 steam 2 sound files, there are a number of Hancock 3 chime whistles...

In Tsunami 2 Steam 2, try setting CV 120 to any/every value from 25 to 29 (26 is UP 4018), all of which are Hancock 3-chimes. Try setting 120 to 53 should be the Hancock 3-chime of UP #3985. You could also try 120 to 81 or 82 (other Hancock 3-chimes).

Hopefully, you will find one satisfactory. Good luck!
