I've been out on an assignment in the Gaspé peninsula in Atlantic Canada. This area is served by an interesting regional short line called the Société de chemin de fer de la Gaspésie, which uses a fleet of MLW RS18u diesels. I caught a trio of them in the rain hauling a string of covered hoppers. The lead unit is wearing a fairly new black widow inspired paint scheme, the second is still in Charlevoix Railway scheme, and the third is still in Ottawa Central Railway black. All three are ex CP units, and still sounded, smelled and smoked like MLWs...

My father and I stopped by this former railroad station in Sudlersville, Maryland today, which now houses a museum for Baseball Hall of Famer, Jimmie Foxx (my great-uncle).  The Comptroller of Maryland, Peter Franchot, came over to our side of the Bay to present an award to the museum to honor Jimmie Foxx and the museum on the 90th anniversary of the 1929 Philadelphia Athletics win in the World Series.  The only way this could have been better if @RockGp40 would have brought a Maryland & Delaware RR train past the station:

@GaryHinshaw, he was right-handed.  Those 1929 stats are damn good, but he was even better in the 1930s, e.g., fifty-eight home runs in 1932!
