Decorate the switch plate as a water/coal tower and disguise the switches as spouts.  :)

I'm going to fabricate a building flat that can be popped in for a photo background.  Probably make it something clever like "Paw Paw Electrical,TV Repair, and Cell Phone Trouble Shooting"... with a tag line "Tune In, Turn On, Drop Out"

Nice!

I guess you have more needs for plows up on the Boston Line...

Yeah CR, kept a lot of equipment up here since '78.

Boston had a flanger, Framingham had a jet, a Russell and a flanger (I believe the flanger is based off an International Car Co caboose), Springfield had two double track Russells plus a flanger, Selkirk had a small army of snow removal equipment and I believe the Buffalo rotary made it out east a few times before 1993.

Even though I will be modeling summer, I love these things and they help tell the story of the railroad.

They are factory installed -- Intermountain. (They are a bit on the thick side -- but, I'll live with 'em -- LOL)

I'm in yet another modeling slump. :( On the bright side I hung out in a bar in Altoona with these guys and enjoyed the food from CP Vito's. I also may have spent too much money on some CR goodies at the hobby shop in Altoona as well. But it was a good 3 day trip with a great group of friends.

For a minute I really thought that was Richard Hatch in the middle.  (The Battlestar Galactica actor, not the other guy.) Too bad it couldn't be.

Looking great @bnsfdash8 Reese! I'd love to do one of the GP60 demo's with the aero cab - are you offering the cab prints for sale at all?

Thanks. The goal is to set up a store at some point to sell stuff through, I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

GP59 is looking great, Reese! You have your own printer?

Thanks as well. I do have my own, I'm a part of the Photon club.

Now that you mention it I see the resemblance. They did a good job with the video and display. I'd liked to have had a beer as well with these guys.

Finishing up the F7.  Just needs more front end details and some weathering

Diezmon:
What are the slide switches you use to throw your turnouts? I build my turnouts by hand and the turnouts have too little throw in relation of the throw of most slide switches. I don't want to put a large Z in the wire from the slide switch to the throw bar to absorb the excess throw of the slide switch unless I have to...

Kind regards,
Bill

I still have the wire there, you just can't see it in the pic.  I don't even recall where I found these, but I grabbed a whole bag. They're just a micro spst slider.   I think I found them at a local surplus shop, called the Ax Man.

To be honest, I thought that was a real-life-rendering of an Edward Hopper painting...

I keep looking at this pic thinking something doesn't seem right. It looks to me to be an image from two TV screens.

Oh, I see now that it was (reading back thru).

Late addition to this week.

Conrail MoW trucks!

The two GMC Brigadier trucks are very close to what Conrail used for mini boom trucks. The company also had short nose 9500s and Topkicks (modeled here using a similar Chevy Kodiak cab), but many of the knuckle booms had a crew cab. My 9500 is mostly cobbled together from spare parts. I remember seeing a few air supply trucks like this.

Most of the details are in place. I need to order more mirrors for the 9500 and add tools and amber beacons. But they are mostly complete.

There are a few more on my workbench: both Brigadier welding trucks. And with that, the CR Boston Line MoW trucks will be complete.

Big shout out to Showcase, which spent a lot of effort to make a modular truck system that just works. Pretty much any truck in their line can take any truck bed. There are so many bed, boom, cabinet and accessory parts, I feel spoiled. And just to think a few years ago there was virtually nothing available.
