I strongly prefer different numbers, but if only 2 or 4 numbers are available, I'll repeat them to fill a train. This goes for containers and trailers. The numbers are much smaller than on boxcars so it's much less noticeable.

I would need a magnifying glass to read the numbers on a container. Not gonna happen.

I'm curious, because I know my answer... How sensitive are folks usually to container and trailer numbers?

It really depends; some container lines have their numbers in large print, especially in the rear doors. 53' containers seem to have larger numbers in many cases. But anything to shut up the most hypercritical rivert-counters out there :)

Nope I sleep just fine at night knowing I have repeat numbers on containers.

If you want to take a photo of your stacktrain with 4 containers' numbers visible, that's when it would matter. :D

Kato's later releases of the Maxi cars come with containers with the same number.
Raise your hand if you renumbered them or didn't buy them solely for that reason.

I bought the cars and sold the containers and the got containers with different numbers from JTC, Atlas, MT and ST.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

PRO TIP: Weather your containers (differently, in varying degrees - NOT uniformly) and people won't care about whether your road numbers are the same or not. They'll just compliment you on your weathering skills :)

Sold out shortly after they were listed on their website, MB Klein apparently underestimated the buyer demand for JTC's newly released gray and magenta Ocean Network Express containers.

Sure hope a restock is planned.

Has (or Will) JTC ever done the blue Hanjin/Senator 40' and 20' containers?

Hi Ed, Yes -  The 20' Hanjin  is scheduled for a December 2019 Release, and the 40' HC Hanjin in 2020:

Just want to say I LOVE how JTC is so direct when responding to product queries. So thank you, @JaxTerminal!
Several years ago I asked a Kato rep at a train show whether they would release a El Cap Hi-Level transition sleeper in Amtrak scheme (which they eventually did) and all they said was, "Maybe."
