A couple of notes and personal opinions:

• The show was very good and there were more vendors this year than ever.  I heard 93 as the number used.
  
  
• Rail fanning was awesome.  After setup on Friday a bunch of us (almost 30) drove over to the parking lot next to the Railroaders Museum which is right next to the rails running to and from Horseshoe Curve.  We ordered 15(?) pizzas (I personally ate 6 slices ), wings and drinks and some even brought cigars.  We sat there until dark to watch the trains.
  
  
• The first train was going to the curve at a slow speed. When the lead locomotive passed us, the engineer stuck his head out the window, motioned with his thumb pointing to the back of his train and yelled at us really loud "No center beams!".  He had a sense of humor and We burst out laughing.
  
  
• If you don't have time to view all the photos, I highly recommend that you look at the ones of the Altoona Model Railroad Club.  The upstairs, which houses their HO and O scales, has builder's plates all over the wall.  And some of the railroadiania collected over the years are just amazing.
  
  
• There were bargains galore if you pay attention.  I think more so this year than last.
  
  
• Sorry I didn't manage to take a group photo this year.  We went directly to the raffle when the show closed and everyone disbursed to the Pig Roast right afterwards.
  
  
• Mike Phillips did another fine job again this year.  Thanks Mike!

Thanks for posting all of these great photos - railfanning was really great.  I spent one night at the Tunnel Inn, which was wonderful, and like you guys spent some time across from the Amtrak Station.  Great location and event!

Agreed - great show.  Definitely some good deals to be had.  I scored on one and passed up some others.  Great layouts on display.  Nice to meet some    Did some railfanning by the museum.  Good weekend all around.  Looking forward to next year!

A personal highlight for me was meeting a gentleman who was involved with the original crew that created the Wallan layout which, for those who don't know, was (and is still - thanks to refurbishing) a revolutionary travelling N scale layout of Australian fame.

Hi Mike, it was great seeing you at the show again this year and thank you for sharing all the great photos. It was also great seeing all the  again this year at the show. It was a real pleasure seeing Christians L&NE layout, Lee's Cumberland T-Track modules, Randy's logging layout and Mark's (Narrow minded) demonstration Nn3 layout made with his new tie strips. Thank you Mark for giving me a demonstration on how to use your tie strips and Rokuhan turnouts, good stuff.

... Mark's (Narrow minded) demonstration Nn3 layout made with his new tie strips. Thank you Mark for giving me a demonstration on how to use your tie strips and Rokuhan turnouts, good stuff.

Thanks @Rich_S .  @randgust made that possible by using a small section of the tie bed for the siding on his Nn3 module and then offering to share a small space in his show booth to display my Code 40 Nn3 test track (and a couple of tipper cars).  I was satisfied with that pre-unveiling of that product, happy that it seemed to be well received.   There will be additional track related pieces as well as operating Nn3 equipment over the next months.
