Even during rush hour, with all the traffic? 

That's what the system was designed for...  All three are one-way, with Charles and Calvert going north toward the suburbs, and St. Paul/Cathedral Street pointed south.

And "all the traffic" seems to prefer to sit on the Jones Falls Expressway watching the sunset over TV Hill than drive on the city streets... which by the way DON'T go through the rougher areas of the city we've all heard about recently...  Well... Not many of them, anyway   For what it's worth, I used to bicycle to work along these routes back in the mid 80s, and never had a bike stolen until I moved to the country...

Good to hear that they work well, even during rush hour.  The synchronized lights I encounter no longer work correctly when the street is clogged up with cars between the traffic lights.
