Closed out the 5000 mile plus epic family road trip of 2019 this week. So, no modeling - but while passing through Newport News VA over the weekend I became aware their Habitat Restore has an N Scale coffee table layout needing a new home for $60. I couldn’t get it onto an overfull car but I’m hoping a VA a$$hat might help out.

If you would have seen my d20 results today when attempting to make armor saves for my 28mm figures today playing Infinity, death is a very accurate description. One of my gaming friends also is an N scaler and I'm pretty sure he used some basing tufts on his TTrak module in the group our LHS is starting up(our LHS used to also be a gaming shop and where we gamed at until a couple of years ago). I'll have to make a point to check it out at next Sunday's run session if I get a bye in our campaign this coming Sunday with my gaming group.

I spent Saturday outside in the heat working on the 1:1 sized trains. I probably consumed half a case of water while I was at it, but it netted me another 5hrs towards moving up to being a Trainman.

I hope you’re checking your clearances against the mounting rods using your longest passenger or flat cars.

Oooh.  Another vintage Micro Layout... and just a few miles away...  Better not.  Rho would kill me.
But wait, is that an Atlas/Roco FA-1 there laying on its side?...  Hmmm.  If I leave early enough, I could be home by nightfall...  But I wouldn't have a home...  What to do, what to do? :|

No issues with 73' centerbeams.  I think camera is distorting the gap to make it appear closer than it is.

I need another micro-layout project like I need (another) hole in my head. But I could easily see me restoring this layout to better-than-new condition...

It’s 1970something. And due to track work on other lines, the Southern Pacific ran a few freights through Playa Desnuda. It was a rare treat to see an old U30C in the consist. They would all be gone by 1985

During my trip to Scotland, we visited the Glenkinchie Distillery.  They had a pretty cool scale model of a typical distillery, maybe 1/4" scale, maybe a bit bigger.  It showed the whole process from drying and malting the barley right on through to casking up the whisky.



As an industrial nerd and a scale modeler, it was a pretty impressive display.  Apparently it was hand built during the 1920s for a Royal Exhibition (think county fair, only with worse teeth).

My goal now is to recreate the model, only to make it functional...  While I'm working through the plans, though, I think I'll enjoy another sip of inspiration...
