I just found out from Jason over at Rapido Trains, they still have some of the Mike McGrattan Memorial Gondola's in stock. Jason is going to have the IT guy add the link back to the new web site. I always enjoyed Mike's posts as well. He is missed, RIP Mike.

Thanks for posting the video!

I miss Mike and I'll be eternally grateful for his lobbying for the N scale Turbo Train project.

I never met Mike, but he was very in outraging to me when I started messing around with resin casting of CPR prototype models. We corresponded mostly about what sorts of models might be possible, and in the later years I always sent him a finished sample of the latest creation, which he often (very kindly) posted here on TRW. Eventually I even did a single window coach (his tag line here on TRW was something like "They can put a man on the noon but they can't make a single window coach"). What I liked best about his modelling was that you could tell he never lost sight of the idea that the most important aspect of the hobby was to have fun, and to share the fun with anyone who wanted to be part of it. Thanks for the video Jason and Rapido.

I never met him, but asked him some questions regarding CPR passenger cars via The Railwire.  What wonderful responses I received. Thanks Pud

Hopefully Sam will eventually inspire model railroaders as you did.

Don't worry Pud, the Leafs will win the cup soon. Sorry you are not here to enjoy it (and this from a Habs fan !)

During the last two or so years of his life, @Puddington and I chatted via facebook regularly about modeling, TRW, fatherhood, husbandry, and the undying passion for sports we both had - though I don't think I ever got him to even consider watching SEC football.  While he wasn't shy about his challenges as his health deteriorated, he was always interested in what I was modeling, and how my kids were. He was a role model in every sense of the word, and I would wholeheartedly endorse @rapidotrains assessment of him as a mensch.

God speed @Puddington - you will always be with us!
