My first attempt at printing a full freight car on the Photon. I'm pretty happy with how the details came out. I'll probably turn the model into separate pieces to help eliminate some of the printing lines and warping.
When did those come on the roster? I've always thought those were cool cars, and wouldn't mind having one!
I'm not sure how you're modeling and then supporting and slicing, but if you do it 'by numbers' you should be able to eliminate those diagonals. By that, I mean rotate parts 90 degrees by typing in 90 degrees in the rotation tool. Move a part 3 units by typing in 3 units. 'Free-hand' ridged bodies as little as possible. It might take a little longer, but your faces will then be oriented exactly in plane with the LCD grid.
I centered the model on the build plate, 4mm up on the Z axis and tilted it to 45.
