While it is unlikely that a P&N RR boxcar ever made to my modeled location of Southeastern MN, I did find a photo of one offline in Eastern NC, so who knows? At least it fits my late fifties time frame. Beyond the awesome paint scheme, the car itself is a interesting mixture of details like the Hutchins ends, double sheathing, steel doors, vertical brake wheel and unique brackets on the end platforms of what appear to be metal running boards.  I built his by sanding the ends of a MT doubled sheathed car smooth and fabricating the ends from strip styrene, brass wire and Gold Medal Models Etched ladders and brake wheel. The running board is MT metal style sanded down to a thinner profile. I also filed the bolsters down for a lower ride and used BLMA wheels. The decals are from Great Decals. Oddly, two companies make decals in N for these (Tichey is the other). One of the best slogan paint schemes ever!

Probably do either 900 or 902 .. I'm not happy with the antenna rack on top .. so I need to rebuild it with some smaller styrene .. the problem is strength ..   also have to find a GPS dome .. thinking of using a small LED for the shape ..   The other problem with using the Con-Cor as a base -- the ends are wrong .. so this is going to be a close enough to tow behind all the M1A1s and strykers ..

All I have been doing for the last month is installing slide switches on the 20 Fort St John yard turnouts.   These actuate the Atlas throw bar firmly and also route power to the frogs.   Once I had one or two done the process got easier, but doing all 20 was a long and tedious process.    Results are worth it though as my RS-3 crawls over all the turnouts at very slow speeds now with no stuttering or stalls.

My first attempt at printing a full freight car on the Photon. I'm pretty happy with how the details came out. I'll probably turn the model into separate pieces to help eliminate some of the printing lines and warping.

When did those come on the roster? I've always thought those were cool cars, and wouldn't mind having one! I've done some of the 2 bay hoppers with a radial dreadnaught end

They were built in 1937. I found that the B&O had them too so I'll have to do one of each for myself. 

I'm not sure how you're modeling and then supporting and slicing, but if you do it 'by numbers' you should be able to eliminate those diagonals. 
By that, I mean rotate parts 90 degrees by typing in 90 degrees in the rotation tool.  Move a part 3 units by typing in 3 units.  'Free-hand' ridged bodies as little as possible.   It might take a little longer, but your faces will then be oriented exactly in plane with the LCD grid.

I centered the model on the build plate, 4mm up on the Z axis and tilted it to 45.

I finally got back into the paint shop today. 8 chip cars, and also two locos and two cabooses in the primed box got BCR light green.

Curious @BCRail_FSJ whos slide switches you've used now that the ones I used to from Radio Shack are no longer available.

I have no idea of the brand as they were just generic switches I picked out of a parts rack at Jaycar Electronics.   Retail electronics stores that sell random bits and bobs such as mini DPDT switches seem to still be a viable business in New Zealand.   We do exist in something of a time warp down here though.
