April/May sounds about right.  He specifically mentioned the 3601's.

Yes, thanks for the photos, Daniel.

T-Boxes are next after the Gunderson boxes and 53' gondolas. They just want to get everything previously announced up and running before digging into their new tooling.

Fantastic!

I spoke with Fox Valley.  Wheels are on the way in 2019.  He indicated the more popular would be produced first followed by the others.

This is the most significant news for me; out of 3301s now and with numerous freight cars in progress they will be waiting for wheels.  I look forward to seeing these re-issued.

Also the NARC 5092 combination door boxcars, which were the mainstay of the BCR's freight car fleet.

Tim, I was wondering, are these the same ones that Kaslo made?

Thanks for the report and photos, Daniel!

The MR report mentioned resin Comet II coaches and cabs from Island Modelworks, I don't suppose anyone saw these at the show? The $30 per unfinished casting is roughly half the cost of getting these off Shapeways, making stand-ins for Horizon cars & eastern commuter fleets a real possibility while I keep my fingers crossed that a manufacturer will make these...

Yeah... same castings as they had for years. They are not usable. I have several and shelved them. I am working with someone to bring a better master out for resin casting my own.

I'm guessing still no Thrall 5100/5400 covered hoppers in N. Darn it, one day I hope. They're out of my era, but between Crandic and Central Soya, I'd buy a bunch.

Daniel:

Yes, same car as the Kaslo Shops resin kit, but in all the different variations and ready-to-run.

Ike:  Fortunately my GN are the older version, with the high brakewheel, so that's correct.  They do have round hatches, though, and while I have placed those with scratchbuilt trough covers on other cars, I doubt that I could match the Atlas Glacier Green.  Fortunately, most people today have never seen the roof of a GN covered hopper, and they did have a few jumbo hoppers with round hatches. so I can live with them.

But a modern model, with some of the more common variations, would be very nice to have.

Looks like I'll have to try to get some of the North American Railcar PGE/BCOL boxcars.  These showed up regularly in the Northwest, and for a while BCOL and MILW seem to have had some type of cooperation agreement.  Every MILW train I saw in the 70s, admittedly not that many, seems to have had PGE/BCOL/BCIT cars in it.

However, if they're from Pacific Western, as the sheet poking out from the top appears to show, I doubt that I'll ever find any at my usual sources.

@daniel_leavitt2000 -- thanks, for the report.

Looks like my wallet is safe for the near future. Other than the BLI announcement -- nothing for the transition era. I'm still holding hope for Baldwin road engines --- some day.

Thank you to all who reported, especially daniel_leavitt_2000.  Other than a few nice looking building kits and that SW, it does not appear that I missed much.  You  modern boys are all happy, I have no doubt.  N scale has more than its share of modern modellers, so it is no surprise that the manufacturers do what sells.

I might even shy from the BLI SWs, as when a BLI hits a dead spot on DC, it stops while the decoder re-sets.  I am not a DCC user, so "Keep Alive" or whatever they call it would not help me on DC.

Elite effort, Daniel. Thank you.

Lots of great news for you guys working the later eras. I'll join the transition gang in noting there's little to interest me, other than the Lunde and Walther's structures and perhaps the BLI switcher. Money saved is fine for me, but probably isn't the reaction manufacturers were shooting for.

Yes thanks to daniel_leavitt_2000 and others for reporting.  I know the transition era did not get much, but my god there is a continuation of the flood of modern (and modern-ish) stuff coming.  :o

A flood of stuff, but zero items of use to me.
