Hunter Protégé Hired for COO at UP
« on: January 08, 2019, 11:01:45 AM »
My wife just texted me, "UP is going crazy, up 9%!"; we dabble in a few shares. But given the news I suspected something was afoot, and it was. The new COO, Jim Vena, was a lieutenant to Hunter Harrison in the implementation of so-called "precision scheduled railroading". PSR is apparently seen as a solution to UP's congestion problem.

My feeling is it's good for the stockholders du jour, not so much for employees, infrastructure, shippers, long-term, etc. :(

We don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents. We just don't tell anybody. -Bob Ross
