Just returned from a 2 month, 14,500 mile road trip of a few western States and Provinces. Naturally, a few trains were photographed:
1) Empty and loaded ore trains face off at Proctor, MN.
2) BNSF crude train west of Medora, ND,m on the old NP main.
3) MRL mid-train helpers on Mullan Pass.
4) Massive wooden trestle on CN branch to Whitecourt, AB., near the appropriately named Rochfort Bridge, AB.
5) Loaded ore at Keenan, MN.
6) Trio of former SOO SD60's heading to the border at Coutts AB. / Sweet Grass, MT.
7) Empty ore at Biwabik, MN., on the Iron Range Sub.
8 ) Herzog ballast train on the Dakota, Missouri Valley, & Western a few miles from Max, ND.
9) Lake Superior & Ishpeming loads heading to Eagle Mills, MI. Was lucky to catch a pair of U30C's operating as the CEFX AC4400's are the regular power, but the Cuyohoga was loading at the ore dock, so extra trains run for fill it as quickly as possible.
10) What amounts to a local dropping cars at Boseman and Logan, MT., has just exited the summit tunnel and is getting enjoying the last moments of sun before entering the Rocky Creek canyon.
