Thanks for taking the time to respond. I understand that this industry necessitates compromise to maximize return on costs. Here's hoping you guys do well selling all the models you can, especially if it means having capital for other accurate Canadian (as in "The"  ) models later.

Many of those new N scale products are things you will want for your layout....

Maybe down the road. We've found that VIA and CN Green sell, but CN noodle doesn't. And in the case of VIA, these cars only wore the scheme for at most six years.

It will be interesting to see how the HO scale diner does in CN noodle. We always thought that CN noodle would gradually do better as more "guys in their 50s" remember it from their youth. But we've found that the interest tends to be in the 1950s or the 1980s and later. Not as much interest in Canada for the 1960s and 1970s. This is very surprising, as it was probably the most interesting time for railroading here. Especially the 1970s - lots of rainbow consists, and mixes of 1st and 2nd generation power.

While I have you Jason @rapidotrains I am probably going to modify my cars when I get a chance by putting six wheel trucks under them. I know it will not be a drop in change but I think it is doable and I have a question about the car numbers you selected to do these in.
Do you know if they had 4 wheel truck of 6 wheel truck under these? Car number 5208 is the only one I can find so far on the web and it has 6 wheel trucks. I know some of these had 4 wheel trucks and was wondering if any of the numbers you selected had 4 wheel trucks before I change these to 6 wheel trucks.

Off the top of my head I don't know which had 4-wheel and which had 6-wheel. Generally the 4-wheel trucks didn't appear until much later, I think in the VIA years. All were delivered with 6-wheel trucks.

Our 6-wheel trucks are correct for these cars, but it will be a bodge to install them.

Thanks for that info. As to installing the trucks I have already been checking things out and know that I will need to do some modifications to get them installed but not daunted in the least bit as to doing it.

One thing I have found out is the screw that holds the 4 wheel truck onto the chassis will not fit into the recessed hole of the 6 wheel truck. Is the screw on the 6 wheel truck Express Baggage cars different?? I do not own one of these so I cannot make a comparison. If they are different is there a way I can purchase a dozen??

The screw bolster is offset toward the center of the car- the coupler box is at the far right in the photo.

Thanks for that shot Tom but the problem I am having is the screws that come with the cars that have 4 wheel trucks will not fit down into the screw hole of the 6 wheel truck. I believe they use a different screw with the cars with 6 wheel trucks. Do you also have a car with the 4 wheel trucks if so can you compare the head sizes of the two?

I have previous CN cars, but not a OB.  As it turns out, the screw used on those 4 wheel trucks (on a Bay sleeper) use a washer head screw (if the washers are separate, they are stuck on).  But, oddly, since the baggage also comes with 4 wheel trucks, the screws of the baggage are slightly smaller in diameter (and a smaller head that fits into the inset) than the screws used on previous issued CN cars.  Very close, but....  I assume the 4 wheel and 6 wheel are interchangeable on the baggage. I would think the 6 wheel could be added to just about any car- you might need new screws.  But.... I think I will cede the floor to someone with both a 6 wheel trucked and 4 wheel trucked baggage and an Osgood Bradley-.... or Jason.

I've honestly never tried it so I don't know how to put the 6-wheel trucks onto the OB cars. It's going to take a bit of a bodge, I'm guessing.

Hey Jon,

Michael here from the Rapido Warranty team.

I BELIEVE that the screws are the same, but I will confirm that on Monday morning. If it turns out that they don't fit, I would be more than happy to provide you with some screws from the Baggage Express.
