Hydroframe-40 w/ True Scale Coupler box for Athearn 50' Box Car

To kick off the modeling year I went back and redrew my Pullman Standard Hydroframe for the Athearn 50' box car including brake detail.





This represent the Hydroframe -40 (20 inches of travel) and requires a modified (welded) MTL True Scale Coupler.

I've discovered the Athearn sliding door and plug door version of are slightly different in a couple areas and depending on how the original floor was glued, the new floor does require some fitting.

My next SW order will include a 1015 coupler box for testing.  There will also be a 30 inch travel version for my BAR plug doors.

I just ordered, I got a few hydro frame 40 boxcars nice to see these as the Athearn PS-1s are good models.

Just got around to trying these underframes out they are really nice and make a big difference will be getting more. The only bummer was I have an older release of the RI car and the under frame is glued in on one side. Would like to see these for the mill gondolas, I've removed several stock underframes in hopes of some day lowering them.
