The earlier production C40-8Ws had thinner radiator wings than the later production version. I think it was the introduction of split cooling or something like that. This picture that you posted shows the thicker wings on the 747 and the original wings on the 6192. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4358892 I'm assuming the Atlas model has the thick radiator wings and that is why the numbers were chosen. Of course, you know what happens when you assume...

There's a footnote in the catalog that the "paint scheme is correct for a similar prototype."
Odd thing is the numbers don't seem to match anything...
