A few questions... Would H1 and H2 be appropriate for 1998? I don't have any BNSF units yet.

I'm guessing this will be on a similar chassis as the T4. I wonder if this is another FVM project.

H2 - No, looks like it was introduced at some point in 1999.  I remember seeing them when I was stationed at Fort Hood at about that time.

In 1996, a short year after the merger, BNSF officially established their first official paintscheme known as "Heritage 1" (H1), which consists of having an ATSF-style logo as their official logo. In 1999, the "Heritage 2" (H2) scheme was introduced with ATSF-style lettering, with the current "Heritage 3" (H3) scheme being released in 2005 with their current "swoosh" style logo, which is considered to be the first official logo to be completely new and original.

According to this page, the 4700 series was delivered in '98.   4720 is the first of these, in numerical order, to be H2. 

It may surprise some people that the H1 dash-9s predated the 'fakebonnets' (i.e. warbonnets delivered with 'BNSF' lettering').  Some people mistakenly think that the fakebonnets are ex-ATSF.

More or less second half of 1997 for build dates of the units delivered in that scheme.   SD75s delivered in the same period also received that scheme.  I believe these were orders that originated before the merger but delivered afterward.

A bunch of ATSFs Superfleet warbonnets were patched with large BNSF on the side, but to my knowledge this doesn't include many, if any, 600 series Dash-9s.  It does include GP60s and Dash-8s, haphazardly.

There are noticeable phase differences betweeen the 600 and 700 series, including 3 vs 4 window cabs, and ditchlight mounting locations.

Considering the thin IM handrails (look good but not as durable as Katos), please do revisit your project, they looked great.

The BNSF and NS Dash-9 fleet - along with the UP SD70M fleet are the biggest fleets of a single loco in the country -

And Kato sits on them...

You're right, only the dash 8s had the Dafasco trucks.
