Jim, you could never tell you had damage. You must be happy. What is your fascia made of?
That's plain 'ol 1/8" tempered hardboard.   The only REAL damage other than scenery was the loss of a 60' foldable PTC antenna at CP Cliff.  Must've snagged on plastic when they removed it.  But I made a spare...

Started the ATSF #29 kit today to test fit the design.  Almost perfect fits. Gonna let leave this unpainted.

This Weekend here in Wisconsin, has become a "Modeling"  Weekend..

I got my Kato-Style storage bookcases in the mail, on Thursday..  So, I modified one for my collection of HD Flatcars.

The contents of the Case for ALL of the GGX Heavy-Duty Flatcars...

There is room for two (2) more cars!  :D

And here is the reason, it is a "Modeling" Weekend in Wisconsin...

April 15, 2018 at 10:02 AM.   :o

Funny Thing is...   I just got eight ( 8 ) New Windows, installed on my house on Wednesday and Thursday...  :P  That was Close!!

We don't have any snow on the ground, but here in south-central PA/NJ,MD, we went from a high in the mid-80's on Saturday to a cold, rainy, raw 45* here on Sunday, and northeasterly winds gusting to 35mph

Nate - what did you use for the loco bell on your F3 kitbashes?  They both look nice!

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

All i did was cut it off the front of the smokebox door and move it back to the top of the boiler.  Drilled a couple of little dimples in the boiler and glued it on.

I've been weathering a few locomotives for @BruceG this weekend, one of which is this N-scale BLI PRR M1a. Being the older of the M1a / M1b pair he sent, he wanted this one to show additional age and wear as it nears its next shop date. So, I spent some additional time with this one, adding coal and rust streaks on the tender, rusty pop-valves, and some rust beginning to show through the warn paint on the boiler's upper surfaces. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Well done weathering job Chris.

My covered hopper etch sheet arrive on Thursday.

I prepped the plastic shell this afternoon.

And had time to try the parts out on the B end.  Everything fit together reasonably well.  I'm pleased and encouraged to carry on.

That is awesome!  I attempted to same end treatment on a half dozen Walthers ballast hoppers, but I did it painstakingly bending all kinds of tiny grabs. Etc. They look good but nothing low this. With the amount of detail, you absolutely nailed the best process for consistent great looking results. Not to mention speed!

What a difference the photo etch makes! Is that a sheet you designed? Looks fantastic!

When I wasn't weathering locomotives, I dusted-off my small Z-scale layout this weekend, ran a few trains, and shot a few photos while I was at it. I'm think I may sell it...

Thanks guys.  I did the artwork.  See the "AC&Y Road of Service" thread in the Layout Engineering section for more details.
This was my first attempt at photo etching artwork.  Now that I know the ends go together well, it will be interesting to see if my assumptions about the process work out with the roof.  THE best tutorial is by Scott Lupia, RMC May 2014.  I'm pretty certain I would not have given it a go without the well written guidance his article provides.
