MBK is pricing them for 29.99 for a 3 pk, so its likely they may have a word with ST. I'm not complaining though, I picked a few !

MBK was already sold out of the 3-pack undecorated containers and the more popular schemes such as C R England, FEDEX, and Tiger Cool Express.

Scale Trains was also out of its remaining, more popular liveries quickly.

Probably won't be much left by 4/6.

Given the unheard of prices, I also wound up picking up a few.

I picked up the CN, Tiger cool and C R England. Shane described in one of the train shows that C R England scheme has 40 print positions ! At this price point it's definitely a bargain.

Not sure how many saw, the HO with sound model (single) is just $10.99 ! The sound of the refrigeration unit is pretty cool.

Does anyone know if there's a 53 foot well car in N scale. Or will both 53 foot ST reefers fit in an existing well car by Walthers or MTL or Kato. All I see are 40 or 48 footers and a 70 foot. HO has 53 foot well cars, but couldn't find one for N. Atlas has it coming at some point I guess.

Kato makes a 53’ maxi IV three well and the container fit. Atlas has a single 53’ well coming in the near future.

If you can find them, the Deluxe Innovations Gunderson Maxi-Stack IV cars "can handle containers from 20’ to 53’ long in the well and containers from 40’ to 57’ long in the top position."

With no container ship date presently listed, according to the Atlas site, their Master 53' Well Cars are due in the second quarter of 2018.

That's been a problem with retailers.

We informed stocking retailers of our excessive inventory situation last summer and let them know they should reduce their inventory and not reorder until the 2017 Holiday sale began.  We offered a 50% discount to direct customers and still provided a reasonable margin to retailers. We even worked with retailers to stock balance their inventory.  While the direct sale did welll, the retailer sale did not. 

Since the beginning of the year, we've sold very few containers.  With nearly 3,000 on the shelf and inventory aging at 14 to 20-months, the time has come to clear out the inventory to use the space and dollars for upcoming shipments.

The containers represent the last of our speculative stock.  We're now using preorders to help us determine our PO quantity.  22 of the 32 recently received N Carbon Black Covered Hoppers SKUs have 12 or fewer pieces in stock.  In addition, 32 of the 73 N Tier 4 GEVo item numbers have 12 or fewer pieces available to preorder.

Pretty sure there are enough of us who would like to see you re-run your EMP, Hub Group, JB Hunt, and Schneider 53' containers with another group of reporting numbers.

Thank you for your post Shane.  I suspected it was a situation like this but it helps to know that your company has worked positively with retailers as well.
