I started another car for the SAL consist.  This one is a PS 10-6.  It starts as a Walthers model with corrugated skirting from a Budd car added.  It requires filling in the small window by the door on the aisle side and enlarging the small window on the opposite side.

Last week, I bought a pair or long out of production Miniatures by Eric Pacific Electric shells. The passenger unit is a 1100 class, and the box motor is a 1445 class. Both of these will be powered by Tomix chassis.

I can’t wait to see real Pacific Electric traction on the Playa Desnuda branch.

I sometimes dabble in Z-scale for the sake of doing something different. This week I made antenna stands from square aluminum tube for some AZL GP30's. The A/C units are 3D-printed parts from Shapeways. I also made some BNSF "patch" decals from proto photos and GIMP photo editor. The GP38-2 has the Micron Art detail set installed, with the exception of the grab irons.

This weekend's project. I started these about 16 years ago -- figured it was about time they got the attention they deserve. I am now done with details -- next will be touch up paint then I will add the road numbers. 4802, 4806 and 4809. and a few final details - windshield wipers and wind deflectors.

The start:

After adding the details:

Looks like a have a few things to straighten out. (Curse you, close up shots!!)

Thanks,
Wolf

Andrew,
Looks good. The mods you made, were they to make it into a 4140C plan?
