What an attractive model:

After all that work correcting the gauges of my locos, this makes me (almost!) wish I'd stayed with code 80 Unitrack.

PS: photo taken off eBay; hope it was ok to post it...

Did you buy this?  All the flanges can be turned down, but it's a lot of work, especially if you are just winging it with files and a Dremel.

If, as I suspect,  the model is tender-driven (free-rolling drivers) then turning flanges with a file is pretty much impossible.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of equally gorgous European N Scale locomotives, by Minitrix, Fleischmann, Piko, Arnold and a slew of others. They all have one thing in common--the flanges. So the question is: what's your point?

Oh yeah!  Forgot about the tender drive on these.

Strummer, you'd have to pull all the drivers, press them off, chuck them up in some sort of fixture, and turn the flanges.

In any event... yeah... not easy.

Gee, I didn't think I had to have a "point" to post something here.  :?

Was merely making an observation of what a nice looking loco this is, and how it almost made me wish I had stayed with Unitrack.

Sorry (but not really) if that offended you in some way...  :D

PS: And no Max, I did not buy this; just happened to notice it earlier today.

I actually meant to post it there, but for some strange reason I went to the N scale category instead...could have been, as Peteski observed, becuase it's a N scale model...(?)

I highly suspect that Bryan wrote that in jest. My reply was also tongue-in-cheek (but accurate).  :)
