Anyone have any details on this particular car.  How close is it, how long was it in this scheme, how long did this scheme last?

Its current number is upp 115 now and name Selma. Its UP's oldest passenger car. Here is some brief history at the bottom of this webpage

Well, um, isn't the MT TTG (Two Tone Grey) model a Pullman "Crystal" 3 Compartment, 2 Drawing room, Lounge/Observation car, rather than a Business car? UP had some running on the Overland during the heavyweight era, and TTG went out of use in about 1952 (although open platform cars in overland general revenue service probably didn't last even that long).
I too would like to learn more about this model, because its so dang good looking in its elegant paint scheme.

Yes this is the one I was inquiring about.

        This car is an observation car which MT is marketing as a business car, it would be correct for an in service observation car during the TTG era. It needs a car name as an obs car or a business car number. It is what I would call a semi-realistic foob as Union Pacific did have heavyweight business cars, they just did not look much like this car although the Selma a former MP now up car mentioned above is a surviving example. Just like the Lowell Smith Presidential car that MT did the body for is close , but no cookies. Nate Goodman (Nato). A fanzee of many roads and a semi UP Geekster.

     I must apologize. The copy photo of the car from Micro News appeared to show no car number or name. I just received my car today from FRT and the Road Name and Number are almost invisible , silver with black outline on the light gray color and yes the car does have a correct UP Business car number 101 applied. The light gray looks just a bit light to me, but you must remember that I did not see any cars in TTG colors until I was in San Francisco and viewed SP Commute cars which were still in those colors.   Nate Goodman (Nato).

Wow, that's got to be a significant cost to M/T, and I applaud them for trying to make things right.
We have plenty of other models by others where the colors are wrong, or different between releases, and I don't recall such a "recall" in the past.

But, while I do applaud M/T's intent, I'm a bit confused about the wording of the notice. Are the colors "wrong" because the shades of gray are incorrect (the light does seem too light), or is the TTG scheme wrong for - business car 101- that should be in post '52 yellow? But then again, the model is a 3-2 obs "Crystal" Pullman, not a business car for which it is numbered...ahh, the slippery slope of doing foobies

Still, one should appreciate M/T's effort; I might just have to buy one (even though I don't need it)

MT has long been a company that is concerned about their products and about their consumers.  Hate that an error has been made because it will be costly for them but I, too, have to applaud them for this action... this is why they are a leader in the N-scale!!!
