Those look great! Any pictures of the truck bolsters for #72?

I decided to try styrene pins on this car.  The (Truck) pins are attached to bolster.  They are capped with .020 sheet stock cut from a three-ring binder punch. (I have used this punch before).
The (Body) pin is attached to the car body and is capped with a scrap piece of .020 stock.





For my Schnabel Car, I plan on using the MT pins.  But, if there are problems I will switch back to this setup...

In tonight's episode, May glues down some cork roadbed...



Next I'm debating whether to build some of those nifty pen clicker turnout controls, or just run a simple wire out to a slide switch... 

I'm going to put some of that 1/16" black foam down under the turnouts for the yard to provide for a modest degree of separation between the ballasted main line and the yard throat tracks....  One of these days...

The MMID cars are from Precision Master, run years ago.  I'm not certain how many different numbers they released, but given my research based on what shows up on eBay, sale groups and shows they only did 2 #'s, 3601 and 3628.  Those 2 #'s are the only 2 I ever see for sale.  This haul came as a result of actually losing an auction on eBay.  I had a second chance offer sent soon after, with seller stating he had multiple 3 car sets available.  I asked how many he had and he wrote back he would list another auction with remaining cars.  He listed 4 sets and I bought all 4.  2 3-packs are going to a friend of mine who had asked about them.

Fox Valley Models now has the molds for these cars with upgraded details etc.  I have added MMID as a suggested paint scheme for them on a couple of occasions, so we'll see if they run them or not.  It has not been mentioned as of yet for a release.  The only thing I need to change is that these cars had 5 roof hatches, where these have 3.

I was able to get AC&J 107 weathered.  I may have gotten the weathering on the heavy side, but overall, I’m pretty pleased with how it has come out so far considering it’s my first real modeling project.  Now I have to figure out how to get it back together and move on to my Bessemer SD9 detailing project. 

Edit-the photos all want to attach upside down for some strange reason.  It doesn't seem to matter what I do, they end up getting rotated.  I tried rotating them in my editor and they still come in upside down.  Rotate them back and they're still upside down.
