We have a position in Creative Services (graphics) open.  Great opportunity to join a stable company with long term goals.  (ive been here almost 17 years and enjoy the job and the area)

Do you guys provide headgear, is there a stipend, or is it up to the person to provide it themselves?

But seriously, I bet that would be a fun job. Good luck finding the right person!

Hi Joe,

Would this be an on-site position only or is there a possibility for remote employment?

This would be an on site position...we've tried remote and it doesn't fit well with our process here.   Thanks for asking!

Alternate version:

Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

This sounds like an exciting position in a stable company with great prospects.  I hope you find someone great to fill it.

I was thinking it might be interesting to also consider tapping into some of the latent talent and knowledge in the modeling community by doing project-specific contracts for artwork.  I could see how once you approved the commercial viability of a project, giving a contract to a knowledgeable and motivated individual could yield a lot of potential products.  Perhaps it is not worth the effort (and hassle), but I get a sense that there are a handful of people with the requisite skill sets and enthusiasm (and time!) to make this work.  A contributing program would be a good PR move too, as it would give the community a path to models (all vetted by MT for viability).  Starting small, like the weathering projects, might be a good way to test the waters.  You could package it with "models by modelers"or something similar to highlight the interaction and give some free PR too.  As I said, just a thought.

I'm with Scott. Decent idea. However, it was said the last time Joe had this position open that MTL has a large research library on-site, and this is one of the significant issues in the need to have this person in-house. I'm sure there are capable enthusiasts who could participate in such a program, but most come with a built-in bias towards a handful of RRs, coming-up short in terms of variety. We already see this from, f'rinstance, Atlas, who leans a little towards Eastern roads, and Kato... well... we know the problem there.

I bet Joe couldn't have predicted the way this thread turned out.

But it is artistic . . .
 :D
Nobody can predict what happens on TRW - that is one of the reasons this place is so much fun to visit.

Let the record show that for the second time in a year, I agree with @peteski:

The "questionable area" could be pixelized, but I just can't get over how prudish American are. We allow all that blood and violence to be viewed by everybody on TV, but  a pair of cheeks on a beautiful curvaceous body is dirty and verbotten! Sin, sin, sin! Such brinawashing! :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Back to the original topic - @Shipsure i have passed this to a couple of folks who are graphic design people but not model railroaders.  Hope you find someone soon.

I'm speechless (and that doesn't happen often)!

I was going to say "is this within the calendar year or within 365 day span?" but then I wouldn't be speechless anymore.  :D

I also hope that Joe finds a talented person.  I wonder if they are expanding their graphic department, or just just filling a vacated position?
