Work on the fef-1 continues. Boiler work has been started. The firebox is close to complete. Tender needs the hatches for the oil and water bunkers. Hopefully it will be done in the next day or two.

Domes are almost complete! Just need to do some more sanding abd filing and it should be about ready for detailing/paint. This one will get the greyhound treatment.

More work onthe overpass this week. 

Rain spouts!

Yes, it's as tedious as it looks, but interestingly (lucky for me) only the Eastbound structure has them on the South side.  There is piping on the Westbound lanes, but they look more electrical (90 degree elbows).  However they don't seem to align/correlate to the street lamps either.  I'll have to go on-site this weekend to confirm.



Nonetheless, I think the Eastbound water spouts add an a nice little accent to the bridge.

These are my projects for today (a year after initial painting ): Texas and Pacific F7A/B. The A, 1581, needs some touch ups done to it and the grille painted, and 1531B just needs the grille painted. Then off to decals. These will go with an OMI E7 I have.

Yeah - it's a Key P-5. Tender drive. Two axles only are powered (and the trucks are solid- they don't swivel). This thing can really pull. And, she is so smooth.

It's a little easier because it was O scale, but on my friends layout one of the other guys did that very thing over about 3/4's of a 1380 sq ft basement layout.  This was the first job he did on the layout after he met the owner thru a fire department function.
