Wow!  That is unique, and perfect for the ink jet printed process MTL uses.

Is the SF car still in service?

There was another one with a black BNSF patch, but I haven't found a photo yet.

I think these were in service until around 2012 or so.

The Google street image capture is dated 6/2012, so maybe a little earlier.

yeah, you're right.

there was another car like it which I may be confusing it for. These oddballs often last until something breaks.

Another candidate: http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nyc/nyc175608ajs.jpg

Isn't that a better candidate for IMRC, since they made that specific prototype [if it's the car I think it is]?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Not if they still need to use glue to hold their models together.

That would indeed be a good candidate. The old fashioned hand-weathering would be challenging.

   :D

Yeah, you found it and presented it here in 2011, but nothing happened. But now, in 2017, MTL has the right equipment to produce such a car in large quantities.

I didn't post it with the expectation that anything would "happen".   I wasn't campaigning for MTL to do it, then or now.   8)
